What do ten awesome friends, one baby, two dogs, many bottles of wine and an afternoon in the sunshine add up to?
Seven measly wedding cranes. Four crane fails. A bit of a hangover. And a wonderful reminder of just how easy it is to throw a great party when surrounded by people you love. Awesome food, beautiful flowers and free-flowing wine don’t hurt either! I’m just sayin…
So while Easter wasn’t exactly the the crane-making extravaganza I was (secretly) hoping for, it sure was a hell of a lot of fun! We had the opportunity to host our first dinner party in our new home and and I’m talking about a super fantastic with a dollop of awesome sauce fun-fest. We don’t mess around.
AND just wait ‘til you see all the top secret wedding details we managed to squeeze in and test drive on our unsuspecting guests! What can I say, I’m a theater kid at heart and I love me a good dress rehearsal!
** WARNING: This post is chock a block full of awesome photos kinda like a freshfromthefarmer’smarket heirloom tomato that just bursts in your mouth. Or pop rocks. Maybe pop rocks are a better example. Anyway get ready for the explosion.

AND the pretty people:

AND the pretty food:

AND yes, even the failed cranes are pretty:

So if the fun, friends, and flowers at our wedding turn out anything like Easter, well, it’s going to be amazing. EPIC even. Squeal. I really can’t wait.
Do moments spent with friends/family fuel your excitement for your wedding too? Or are we just freaks? It’s okay. We know!
ps. all photos by moi, except for a few I snagged from my awesome friend Katie. Thanks lady!

A few more words on food. sigh. I think in my next blogger life I’ll have to write about it in all it’s delicious glory I love it so much!
So you’ll remember from yesterday that we’re having the BEST taco truck ever cater our wedding, but just what other yumminess will we have for our guests?
We’re thinking that during the cocktail hour we’d love to have a delicious table of cheese/fruit/jam. I imagine it will look like this:

On the budget front, we’re thinking of asking a friend (or two) to be in charge of the cocktail hour spread- the setup will be pretty minimal and I don’t feel terrible asking a friend to donate an hour of time at our wedding to making sure our guests are stuffed with delicious cheese! And not to worry- drinking on the job will be encouraged! I look out for my friends like that!
On the drinks front (the specific details of which will require their own post) we’re going pretty simple: beer, wine, mexi-coke, and a signature (which due to our venues rules requires it be made of beer/wine, i.e. no hard alcohol).
Something like these:

We want the food/drink to be laid-back with a french garden party feel. You know- simple, delcious, and yet a little decadent. Mmmmmm….
While Kogi serves up the tacos/burritos/yum we’ll probably provide a few simple salads to go along with. Something alone these lines:

So there you have a very pretty summary of the deliciousness to be had at our wedding. You bet your ass I’ll be eating. a lot.
Up next I supposed I should fess up to my extreme thrift store habit and share a few of the beauties we’ll be eating all this deliciousness on, or off as the case may be.
xoxo

Happy New Year lovelies! And welcome back to the blogosphere (I hope). I ain’t gonna lie, it was a tad bit lonely around here without you all!
So let’s get right down to business-“New Year, New You” and all that blabber aside, I’m sure everyone probably has a fresh gym membership in hand and is ready to talk about dieting and blah, blah, blah. Go check out The Knot, cause we’re not gonna do that around here.
Nope.
We’re going to talk about food. Delicious, mouth-watering, eat-it-with-your-hands, rooster-sauce splashing everywhere type food. Food people in LA stand in line for. Sure, people in LA will stand in line for anything, but I swear it’s that good! Seriously look at the line:

What food am I talking about? That’s right. Our Wedding Food. Now I’m sure I’ve mentioned this in other posts, but our wedding is being catered by a taco truck. Say what? Yup. A Taco Truck. And not just any taco truck either- The Kogi Truck!
Witness her in all her taco truck glory:

sigh. Isn’t she pretty?
And how about the food? It’s absolutely gorgeous and our guests get AS MANY TACOS/BURRITOS as they want! Plus they get our personal favorite- The Kimchi Quesadilla, not to mention the amazing sliders.
Witness the mouth-watering beauty:

We’re super excited to provide our guests with amazing food (lots of it if they want) and it doesn’t even break the bank! Not to mention that it’s the perfect food to eat in between all the drinking, and dancing we hope our guests will be doing.
What about you guys? Any plans for rooster-sauce splashing food festivities at your wedding?
